Cary High Culinary Team Wins NC ProStart

Family and Consumer Sciences students from Cary High School in Wake County, North Carolina, won the North Carolina ProStart Invitational. The students competed in a culinary challenge organized by the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association. In the competition, teams had 60 minutes to design, prepare, and serve a three-course meal using two butane burners. The winning team presented a menu that included curry shrimp and grits, grilled chicken with balsamic tomato sauce, and tiramisu panna cotta.

As winners, the team has advanced to the national competition and will have the opportunity to choose from a range of scholarships offered by universities and culinary institutes in the state and across the country.
