Auburn Fire Department Trains with Mercy Flight Central

AUBURN, NY – Over the past month, the Auburn Fire Department has been participating in Helicopter Ground School training sessions with Mercy Flight Central. All shifts within the department took part in the training, which covered essential topics including landing zone requirements, radio communication protocols, medical capabilities, and the coverage area for helicopter services.
The training also included practical, hands-on experience in loading patients, understanding helicopter approach zones, and emergency procedures involving helicopters. This comprehensive training aims to enhance the preparedness of the fire department's crew in coordinating with air medical services.
The department expressed gratitude to Willard Memorial Chapel for permitting them to use the area next to the church for landing practice.
