Community Meeting on Economic Development Scheduled for September
Staff Report / FLXlocal.org
A community meeting will take place on Thursday, September 26, from 6 to 7 PM at the Geneva Public Library in the Reading Room. The meeting aims to discuss the community-guided work plan and strategy for Economic Development in Geneva.
Representatives from the Industrial Development Agency (IDA), Local Development Corporation (LDC), Business Improvement District (BID), and the Department of Planning and Economic Development will present findings from their ongoing collaboration. They will share an overview of their capacity, short-term actions, and a draft of the final report, which will be a living document revised based on community feedback. This report will be utilized for quarterly evaluations of the progress made.
Community members are encouraged to sign up for various projects and start their own citizen work groups to address small ideas and initiatives. This effort aims to foster connections among neighbors and work together towards shared goals.
Additionally, members of the community can learn about volunteer opportunities during Good Neighbor Day on Saturday, September 28, from 2 to 6 PM at the library, where games will also be provided.
